Chinese New Year Lantern DIY

If you have lots of old red packets which you feel it would be a waste to throw them away, here's what you can do with them. Lantern! Yup, you can make beautiful lanterns with them.

Today I will show you how to make a Flower Ball Lantern. All you need are 30 rectangle red packets, stapler and staples, scissors (if you need to trim your red packets).

Flower Ball Lantern

Step (i): Fold the red packet into a diamond (as shown in the diagram below). Repeat 30 times.


Step (ii): Staple both top and bottom of the red packet to form a diamond shape. Repeat 30 times.



Step (iii): Staple 5 of your Step (ii) together as shown in the diagram below.



Step (iv): Then staple another 5 Step (ii) horizontally beneath the Step (iii) as shown in the diagram below. 



Step (v) Repeat to make another Step (iv).You need 2 of the beneath diagram. One for top and one for bottom.



Step (vi) Staple 2 Step (ii) together as shown in the diagram below. Repeat another 4 times to get 5 pairs. 



 Step (vii) Staple all 5 pairs of Step (vi) to connect both the top and bottom part to make a ball shaped lantern as shown below.
